The Ideal Spine
We’ll take pictures of your spine. We compare these images with published standards. We’ll point out any deviations we see. Naturally, these findings will direct our specific care recommendations.
Corrective Care Protocol
After symptomatic relief, patients are offered the option to pursue Corrective Care. This is where dramatic, longer-lasting spinal changes are made. This is done through a specific protocol of adjustments, traction and exercise.
- Adjustments help restore segmental integrity to your spine, decrease abnormal weight distribution and avoid spinal decay.
- Traction delivers a constant force to help retrain and remodel the spine to counter the effects of long-standing postural distortions.
- Exercises, designed for each patient’s particular spinal abnormality, are used to strengthen weaker areas of the spine.
Documented Spinal Changes
With high levels of patient involvement and objective standards used to measure success, expect to see dramatic spinal changes.

Spine & Posture Adjusting
Spinal joint adjustments in our office differ from traditional spinal manipulative therapy (SMT). Although we do use SMT it is not our primary form of adjusting the spine and posture. In our system we define adjusting as moving the spine and posture from an abnormal posture toward a normal posture. This is achieved using drop tables and instruments that stimulate the nervous system through the joints of the spine and help the brain learn a new, more stable posture and spinal position.
Spine & Posture Stretching
Ligaments hold the spine in place. When the spine weakens and posture distorts over time the ligaments mold into these weaker positions. We have specific machines that help restore the normal curves in the spine by strengthening ligaments and restoring balanced posture.
Spine & Posture Movement Therapy
During this portion of our movement therapy we apply Mirror Image Exercises® to teach you how to move within your new spine and posture. After determining your postural distortions we are able to teach you the Mirror Image® (opposite) of these distortions to correct muscular imbalances and strengthen your postural muscles and improve your posture.

5 Ways A Chiropractor Will Help Your Spine
A spine injury or illness can be extremely painful and debilitating, but you don’t have to suffer in silence any longer when you get into contact with a New Jersey chiropractic office. In fact, you may be surprised to learn that chiropractors are capable of helping patients with spinal issues such as scoliosis, degenerative disc disease and spinal stenosis. Chiropractors are known to be the experts when it comes to spinal health and well-being, but if you haven’t been to one before, you may not know what they do or why they’re so important. Here are five ways that chiropractic treatment can help your spine when you visit us at Northeast Spine & Wellness Center.
1) Maintain Proper Posture
Maintaining proper posture is the best way to avoid injury. Maintaining proper posture will also help you to look more confident and feel more comfortable. Posture can have a significant impact on your mood, as well. Standing or sitting with good posture can give you a boost of confidence, which will in turn make you happier!
2) Release Muscle Tension
Muscle tension is the most common cause of back pain. When you experience muscle tension, your muscles are shortened and over-stressed. This can lead to muscle spasms and tightness, which can in turn put pressure on the spine, causing back pain. At our New Jersey chiropractic office, we offer a variety of techniques to release muscle tension and relieve your back pain. We employ therapeutic massage therapy, trigger point therapy, acupuncture and other manual therapies. Our therapists will also help you strengthen your core muscles so that they’re not compensating for weakened or injured muscles elsewhere in your body.
3) Strengthen The Back
A back injury can be difficult to recover from on your own. Thankfully, a chiropractor can help treat the pain and get you back to your old self again. If you are experiencing any of the following symptoms then it is time to see a New Jersey chiropractic doctor. -A sharp or shooting pain down one or both legs -Numbness in either leg or feet
- Difficulty lifting objects
- Sudden changes in bowel habits
- Persistent lower back ache
4) Provide Consistent Treatment
Chiropractic care is a natural approach to treating spine pain. If you suffer from chronic neck or back pain, chiropractic care could be the answer. With chiropractors, there are no drugs and no surgery involved. The treatment focuses on bringing your spine into proper alignment with gentle pressure applied to certain points on your body called subluxations. When these vertebrae in your spinal column are misaligned they can pinch nerves in your spinal column causing severe pain that can spread out to other areas of your body. It’s not just about neck or back pain though-chiropractors also have the training and skills necessary for effective management of headaches, migraines, carpal tunnel syndrome, whiplash injuries, rotator cuff problems as well as many types of musculoskeletal disorders.
5) Fix Issues Before They Happen
If you are living with chronic pain, or just looking to improve your overall health, the best thing you can do is see a chiropractor. They have helped countless people get relief from their pain and enjoy a better quality of life. Even if you don’t have any issues yet, prevention is always best. Make An Appointment: You don’t need to wait for something bad to happen before seeking help. And since problems often get worse over time, it’s important that you make an appointment as soon as possible.

Is it Painful to Get Chiropractic Treatments?
Many patients who are new to Clark chiropractic and wellness treatments have concerns about feeling pain or discomfort. They associate chiropractic care with painful, contorted positions, but this is far from the reality of what chiropractic sessions involve. Spinal adjustments and other types of treatment may look and sound painful, but they are not. Chiropractors are highly trained and will make sure that patients are in a comfortable position before they administer treatment. The sound of cracking and popping are not bones, but the gas inside joints being released during treatment. If you feel any pain when you are getting an adjustment, let the chiropractor know and they will modify the treatment so that you do not feel pain.
Am I a Good Candidate For Chiropractic Care?
You are a good candidate for quality chiropractic care if you are experiencing moderate to severe neck, back, or joint pain. These are some of the most common issues that patients have when they seek chiropractic treatment. Chiropractors will do a full assessment that includes a comprehensive physical exam to see what conditions you have and what kind of treatment you can benefit from to achieve relief. Individuals who suffer from disorders that result in constant muscle pain or nerve pain such as fibromyalgia, arthritis, and pinched nerves can also obtain relief from their symptoms by getting care from a skilled chiropractor.
Can a Chiropractor Give Me Relief From Headaches and Migraines?
One of the lesser known benefits of chiropractic care is that it can provide long-lasting and significant relief from chronic headaches and migraines. If you suffer from severe headaches, you may benefit from receiving Clark chiropractic and wellness services as long-term solutions for your symptoms and pain. Tension headaches are caused when the muscles in the neck and shoulders are too tight. Chiropractic care is highly effective at relieving these headaches because it targets the back and spine. Adjustments help to sooth the muscles so that they are relaxed, improving blood flow and circulation to the rest of the body. Chiropractic care is a safer alternative than taking prescription or over the counter drugs for headaches.
How Can a Chiropractor Improve My Posture?
Many people suffer from improper or poor posture. Bad posture can be attributed to occupational duties, looking down at phones, or other common habits. For example, people who have to sit at a desk for long periods of time can develop poor posture. Chiropractic treatments like spinal manipulation, massage therapy, physical therapy exercises and other treatments can provide relief for people who experience posture issues. By focusing on treatments that help to relax the muscles and eliminating tension in the neck, back, and shoulders, patients can experience less soreness and tightness in those areas. After several sessions, patients can expect their posture to be highly improved.
What Can I Expect From My First Session?
The first chiropractic session can be intimidating. There are several things that you should know before attending your first session so that you can be prepared and optimize your results. You should wear comfortable clothing that is loose and not too tight so that you can easily move in different positions. During your first visit, you will go through a detailed physical exam. The chiropractor may ask you about your symptoms, medical history, and how long you have been experiencing pain. Your first session may include a brief adjustment towards the end of the appointment. The chiropractor may first begin with simple adjustments during your initial sessions, then do more sophisticated adjustments as you go through your treatment plan.
